I was raised not to believe in “non-religious guidance” but I am very interested in secular sources. As I have not yet developed a definition of my true self, I turn to other sources for input.
I once read a birthday book that explained the meaning of my birthdate. Instead of trying to remember all the nitty gritty details, I found an online version (link below).
I took a Myers-Briggs personality test and scored as an INFP (Introvert, iNtuitive, Feeling, Perceiving). (Link below)
I even went to a psychic once. Dominic told me a great deal about myself and my future. (Sorry, there is no link for this one.)
I will attempt to digest and summarize what I learned from the sources:
I am an idealist, a dreamer, a perfectionist, a peace-keeper, a helper, a healer. My intuition, values, and quest for understanding the nature/purpose of everything are driving forces in my life. I am intensely passionate with many interests. I often throw myself into developing passions to the point of exhaustion or burnout. My strong desire for harmony and promotion of people’s wellbeing results in people-pleasing behavior. My very essence can become problematic as my dreams, idealism, and perfectionism often conflict with the mundane and imperfect reality of the world around me. There is a constant need to balance: I must balance emotions, passions, energy levels, etc or I will be destined to live an unstable, self-destructive life. However, with balance, I will be able to fully develop into an influential, creative, accomplished individual.
That’s what I was able to glean.
